2 newborn baby goats do not eat mother's milk, causing abdominal pain
The Participatory Community Development for Livelihoods Improvement and Nutrition Promotion in Rural Areas (LAN) has been implemented by The Association for Rural Mobilisation and Improvement (ARMI) in 30 villages: Atsaphone, Thapangthong District, Savannakhet Province, and DakChueng District, Sekong Province.
On August 30, 2023, we visited and monitored the goat raising of 3 target families in 3 villages: Dakle Village, TangBrong Village and Tangmi Village, DakChueng District, Sekong Province. which we gave them knowledge about the techniques of raising goats and the use of medicine, the use of herbs for goats.
Among them, it is seen that there are 8 new born goats, but the goat of one family has a problem: the mother goat who has just given birth does not let her baby eat milk, causing 2 baby goats to get sick and stomach ache. So the team advised the family to bring papaya leaves and mix it with salt and put it in the mouth of the baby goat to eat every morning and evening so that the goat will be strong and return to mother's milk normally.
