ARMI’s team has completed our mission to support preparation and organizing the Annual Intra-Provincial Stakeholder’s meeting of the Lao national nutrition strategy on June 20, 2023, At the administrative office of Xay Champhone District, Bolikhamxay Province, which honors the co-chairmanship of the meeting, are Mr. Kongsi Xayyavong Deputy in Xay Champhone District; Dr. Boungyang Latsamy, Programme Manager of Caritas Luxembourg in Laos; and Mr. Khamkone Phaiy Oudone, President of Quality of Life Association (which received sub-funding to support activities in XayChamphon District, Bolikhamxay Province). There are central project steering committees as well as the District Nutrition Secretariat for 3 sectors (District Education, District Agriculture and District Women's Union), the Mother Support Group, care volunteers, village councils (village leaders) of target villages, and development organizations that support mother and child nutrition work in the province (international organizations, local associations, and private companies). A total of 71 people participated (36 women). The purpose of the meeting is to review the progress of the implementation of project activities and future plans, share lessons on the nutrition situation between the local, district and provincial levels, and listen to the opinions of the project steering committee for each part (on problems, challenges, proposals and solutions).
