Continue to train animal husbandry techniques for a target group of 136 people in Chomphet district, Luang Prabang Province

The Community-Based Inclusive Development project in Luang Prabang province Phase II (CBID-LPB) is implemented in 20 villages in Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR. The project’s objectives are to support improving the quality of people with disabilities lives, to support income generation, and life development activities for all types of disabled people. The project is funded by CBM Global Disability Inclusion (CBM Global).

In order to continue to strengthen the awareness and ability to generate income for the families of the target group in Chomphet district, during August 2023, we have completed the training of goat raising and pig raising techniques for the target group, by the co-chairmanship of Mr. Somsak silivong, Deputy Mayor and Mr. Thongvan Chanpheng, head of the Social Welfare and Labor Office of Chomphet district, with technical trainers from the Agriculture and Forestry Office, there are 136 people (47 women), among them 43 disabled people (7 women).

The participants are determined and have learned many issues such as: basic knowledge in raising animals, techniques for choosing a place and building a cage, techniques for raising and managing, techniques for feeding, keeping animals healthy. At the same time, they also participated in practical activities in many topics such as: production of food supplements, vaccination against animal diseases, creation of cages as a model, etc.
