Incorporating the work of disabled people into the village development plan in 6 target villages in Chomphet district

The Community-Based Inclusive Development project in Luang Prabang province Phase II (CBID-LPB) is implemented in 20 villages in Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR. The project’s objectives are to support improving the quality of people with disabilities lives, to support income generation, and life development activities for all types of disabled people. The project is funded by CBM Global Disability Inclusion (CBM Global).

In the final week of September 2023, our association conducted a participatory development training for people with disabilities and their families in the target village. The training aimed to raise awareness and understanding of rights, equality, treatment, rehabilitation, social welfare and participation of people with disabilities. The training had 51 participants including 19 women and 31disabled individuals..

We also worked with the village committee in 6 target villages to create a village development plan that includes the participation of people with disabilities. The plan aims toto ensure participation in development at the village level and improve the lives of people with disabilities. The training had 56 participants including 8 women and 3 disabled individuals.
